Holger Schmidt is a senior expert in digital economy and the platform economy. He teaches digital transformation at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany) and platform economy at the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
As a journalist he has spent 20 years writing about the digitalisation of the economy including 15 years for the Frankfuter Allgemeine Zeitung.
He is also the inventor of the “Platform Index” and manages the equity fund “The Original Platform Fund”, which invests exclusively in platform business models.
His clients include Microsoft, Volkswagen, Facebook, Amazon, Alibaba, Mercedes, Porsche, Salesforce, BASF, Adobe, Deutsche Bundesbank, Linde and many more.
He is a book author and co-host of the podcast “Artificial Intelligence” for the leading German daily newspaper FAZ.
Currently he is working on a book about the impact of digital technologies on climate protection.
