Flavia Pennetta is an Italian former professional tennis player. In 2009, she became the first Italy’s top-ten female singles player and the fist Italian to be ranked in world Nr 1 in doubles in 2011. In 2011 she also won the Australian Open women’s double title and the 2015 the US Open singles title.
She was born in 1982 and was introduced to tennis at the age of five by his father.
At the age of 17 she won the French Open girls’s doubles with Roberta Vinci.
Flavia played on the International Tennis Federation circuit for several years before becoming professional in 2000.
