Araceli Segarra is a renowned alpinist and communicator, known for sharing the values she gained through her experiences climbing Everest. In 1996, she became the first Spanish woman to summit Everest while filming an IMAX documentary.
Narrated by Academy Award® nominee Liam Neeson and featuring music by George Harrison, Everest tells the gripping true story of a team of four climbers who reached the summit just days after the deadliest disaster in the mountain’s history. Before continuing their ascent, they assisted in the rescue efforts of fellow mountaineers and friends caught in the tragedy. The film is a powerful story of hope, resilience, and triumph in the face of adversity, showcasing the endurance of the human spirit.

Recently published: “Expedition to the Glass Ceiling” A book for women and men who believe true equality can only be reached together. Through the metaphor of an expedition, it explores the challenges many women still face today and offers tools and reflections on perseverance, courage, and shared responsibility—breaking barriers so no one climbs alone.
She is the author and illustrator of the children’s book series The Adventures of Tina.
Araceli holds a degree in Physiotherapy from Ramon Llull University and has furthered her education in Organizational Psychology at UOC.
She has also been a brand ambassador and the face of several advertising campaigns, including Cortefiel, Danone, Fisherman’s Friend, and Biotherm, among others
